Eddy Van Gestel – African Queen 2.0.

De belgische fotograaf Eddy Van Gestel leeft en werkt in België en Afrika.
Jaarlijks trekt hij acht of negen keer naar Nairobi, in Kenia, waar hij zijn tweede huis heeft. Dikwijls vertrekt Van Gestel alleen, maar soms ook met zijn vrouw en vier kinderen. Dit doet hij al dertig jaar lang en hierdoor heeft hij Afrika zien veranderen en dit is hij meegeeft in zijn beelden.

Het brengt fotografie en interieur samen. Van wie de inrichting/meubelen zijn blijven een raadsel, maar één ding is zeker: de combinatie is schitterend en zeker een bezoekje waard.

De tentoonstelling is enkel open op vrijdag – zaterdag en zondag.

The Belgian photographer Eddy Van Gestel lives and works in Belgium and Africa. He annually travels eight or nine times to Nairobi, Kenya, where his second home is located. Van Gestel often leaves alone, but sometimes with his wife and four children. He has made the trip several times during the last thirty years so he noticed the changes in Africa and this is exactly what he shows in his pictures.

“With this super book, photographer Eddy Van Gestel shows the beauty and potential of Africa, the unsurpassed neighboring continent of Europe,” said Minister of State Louis Michel, who wrote the foreword to Eddy Van Gestel’s latest book. Source: Nieuwsblad.

It brings together photography and interior design. It remains a mystery who’s responsible for decor and furniture, but one thing is certain: the combination is brilliant and well worth a visit.

 The exhibition is only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
